Bookmarks

SessionPaw works directly on your browser's bookmarks. There is no separate copy: anything you change here changes your real bookmarks, and syncs if your browser syncs them.

There are three ways in:

• Bookmarks Manager: a large two-panel window for sorting and moving lots of bookmarks.
• Bookmark List: a quick drawer inside Side View for opening bookmarks while you work.
• Bookmarks tab in Concept Mode: drag bookmarks and folders onto your map.

Bookmarks Manager

Open it from the round button at the bottom right of Side View → Bookmarks Manager.

The window has two panels side by side, so you can drag bookmarks from one folder to another. Each panel has four views, picked with the icons at its top:

View	Shows
Tree	Your bookmark folders. Pick a folder to see its contents.
Dustbin	Bookmarks you deleted from SessionPaw.
ReadLater	Your Read Later folder.
Search	Search all bookmarks by title or address.

Select and move

1. Click a bookmark to select it. Click more to add them. Shift-click selects a range.
2. Drag the selection onto the other panel or onto a folder.
   • Drop near the top or bottom edge of a row to place it before or after.
   • Drop on the middle of a folder to put it inside.
3. Double-click a folder to open it.

The bar at the bottom shows how many items are selected in each panel.

Per-item buttons (on hover)

Button	What it does
Open	Opens the bookmark.
Open in incognito	Opens it in an incognito window.
Edit	Change the title and address.
Delete	Moves it to the Dustbin. Right-click to delete it for good. Deleting something already in the Dustbin removes it for good.

Folder tools

• Sort A-Z, Sort New-Old, Sort Old-New. Folders always stay first. Sorting the Bookmarks Bar is blocked on purpose.
• New folder.

Bookmark List in Side View

Click the round button at the bottom right of Side View → Bookmark List (pink). A drawer slides out with your bookmark tree.

• Single bookmark: Open in new tab, Open in new window, Open in incognito.
• Folder: Open in new window opens every bookmark in it as one window. Open in incognito does the same in incognito. Shift-click to load every tab right away.

This is a quick way to turn a folder of links back into a working window.

The badge on the toolbar icon

When the page you are on is already bookmarked, SessionPaw shows a short badge on its toolbar icon, and the tooltip shows the bookmark's title.

Badge	Meaning
F	The exact address is bookmarked.
p0, p1, …	The address without its query is bookmarked (p0), or a shorter part of its path (p1, p2…). A higher number means a shorter path.
h	Only the site itself is bookmarked.

Folders SessionPaw creates

SessionPaw keeps some of its own data in bookmark folders. Please don't rename them.
